Recovering

Stat 131 has officially painted my mind red. And after four hours, I'm still recovering from the mental torture. I would love to pass this exam, please! That's the dream.

Good thing I ran into Who Wants to be a Millionaire on TV 5. Finally, an intelligent program in local Philippine television! How often do you find that at the same time! LMAO!!!

I still have lot's of things to do: Stat 135 exams on Monday, tons of papers due this week, and a report for Psych. Yikes! (And yet I'm blogging :p)

I know these times shall pass...

The Philippine Stock Market 15 Years Ago

I was reading Peter Bernstein's "Against the Gods" and came across this figure that depicted the Philippines as the best performing stock market from January 1992 through June 1994 with a monthly rate of return of 4%, even outperforming the Standard & Poor's 500 Index. Of course, this was the beginning of the so-called real-estate bubble in the Philippines which eventually bursted two years after in 1996.

So what's the point in blogging this? Well, I noticed the author's consistent mispelling of our country ('Philipines' - appearing twice in the book) which I took as a hint of lousy copyreading. But then, it showcased how the Philippines faired in the global economy 15 years ago and to think how we've come at the present makes me think if we will be as prosperous as those years.

In the midst of despair

I turn to You.

Haaay.. just when I think I could handle it all, everything in my life would change eventually. I didn't realize how much I am handling is actually out of my reach. I seek too far to withstand it. But I don't fret. It's just that when you think everything is under control, you just don't know what the unexpected is.

Likewise, I'm turning my eyes wide shut, and lay it all above me. Everything will work out again. I know it will.

Gossip Girl Season 2

I just saw this announcement while watching "Much 'I Do' About Nothing" a while ago.

Season 2 of Gossip Girl premiers February 3, Tuesday, at 8pm on ETC.
Replays on Wednesdays 5pm and on Mondays 10am.

Also, a new season of One Tree Hill will be shown on February 4, Wednesday, at 8pm on ETC.

tomorrow will be Stat Wars. I can't wait. I'll be the scorer so I have to keep an eye on everything. Also, I will review for my Fil 40 exam on Wednesday. Lot's of things to do and I hope I could do them all.


It's Miguel Ruffy's birthday today!

I just watched episode 14 of Gossip Girl. Ah, just loved Chuck and Blair still. Hope that mysterious Lily-Rufus lovechild will be revealed soon. Blair and Jack anyone?

just a quick one. I was listening to The National's "Slow Show" all night. I feel inspired to move over and start winning. I'm willing to give up everything just to live a peaceful life. Haha emo. But anyway, I just wanted to get this one out.
